Sector-K Games Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2020
Sector-K Games and Block Zero Games operate the Punch Planet iOS Game, macOS Game, and the tvOS Game (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1.Definitions
Service: Service means the Punch Planet iOS Game, macOS Game, and the tvOS Game operated by Sector-K Games and Block Zero Games.
Personal Data: Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession). This includes a player’s persistent identifiers in connection with Apple services such as iCloud and Game Center.
Usage Data: Usage Data is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the current level passed in the game to send an achievement to Game Center).
2. Data Collected.
From time to time, we will utilize a player’s persistent identifiers for use with Apple services, such as iCloud and Game Center. This includes the scoped teamPlayerID associated with the player’s Game Center account when logged in. These are stored by, and/or serviced by Apple, and in which case Apple’s privacy policy and associated agreements shall govern the storage, use and dissemination of such data.
From time to time, we may also generate a Universally Unique ID (UUID) associated with your device to allow for saving progress across multiple devices on iCloud.
From time to time, we may collect Usage Data for the purposes of saving progress within the Service, and any additional data will be in support of that. However, data stored for the purposes of saving progress will not be used for any purpose other than the saved progress.
Save game data is limited to data which allows continued progression in the game, including current level reached, items collected within the game, and any customizations or upgrades applied by the player.
From time to time, we will temporarily collect your Personal Data in connection with opening and servicing one or more service tickets through our helpdesk platform, however any Personal Data collected in connection therewith will be deleted upon completion.
For the purpose of playing against other players online, we will temporarily collect the following information:
A player’s current status within the Service - used for identifying when a player is available to play online with other players.
Character and Stage selected - used for match setup.
Win/Loss count - for identifying skill levels of players.
Post match choice - to see if a player wants a rematch, or not
Any data collected to support online play will be discarded once the matches have ended.
3. Data Use.
A player’s persistent identifiers will only be used in connection with Apple services for saving progress in the game and associating it with specific Game Center accounts, which are then stored on iCloud. A player’s scoped teamPlayerID from Game Center will be used for associating a save game to a specific Game Center account, and a Universally Unique ID (UUID) which the Service generates will be used to help identify save data between different devices connected to your iCloud account.
From time to time, achievements will be sent to Game Center if the user is logged in.
We will also use your Personal Data in connection with service tickets on our helpdesk platform.
Player data such as status, character selected, and win/loss information will only be used for the time necessary to facilitate online multiplayer matches.
We will not use your data for any purpose other than that set forth above.
4. Data Retention.
We do not intend to retain any Personal Data beyond the time period necessary to service a helpdesk ticket or provide the in-Service functionality available through Apple services.
For online multiplayer within the service, all data collected will be used only for the time necessary to facilitate an online match. Once the match has ended, data will be discarded.
5. Third Parties
We use third-party services to help support our Service. We don’t share data with them beyond what is necessary to allow the Service to function.
Apple, which provides services such as Game Center and iCloud, and is used for accessing player IDs and saving game data between multiple devices, when necessary. Apple’s privacy policy and associated agreements shall govern the storage, use and dissemination of such data.
We do not intend to share Personal Data with third parties for the third party’s own purposes. We may, from time to time, share Personal Data with our helpdesk vendor to service open support tickets or with Apple services as described above.
6. Declining or withdrawing permission for data.
You may decline to provide your Personal Data or withdraw your Personal Data once provided. However, doing so may limit the functionality of the Services such as your ability to obtain support from our helpdesk or utilize online functionality of the Services.
You may decline to store data in iCloud or to send data to Game Center. To turn off iCloud data storage, you must turn off iCloud in Apple Settings for our game. As a result, you will only be able to play in offline mode. To stop sending data to Game Center, you must sign out of Game Center in Apple Settings. As a result, achievements will not be saved.
7. Kids.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance. To the extent that we utilize Personal Data of a user under the age of 13 for a purpose set forth in Section 2, such use shall constitute a “legitimate interest” under the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of the European Union and shall be designed “to support internal operations of the game” under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506).
When optionally connected to iCloud or Game Center, a player’s persistent identifier may be used only in connection with Apple services and for no other purpose, and players may decline to use these services for those purposes. See “Declining or withdrawing permission for data” for more information.

9. Data Subject Rights.
You may request, modify or delete your personal information from our customer service system by submitting a request by email to privacy@blockzerogames.com with the subject “DELETE MY DATA”.
You may also decline to store data in iCloud or to send data to Game Center, which is handled by Apple. To turn off iCloud data storage, you must turn off iCloud in Apple Settings for our game. As a result, you will only be able to play in offline mode. To stop sending data to Game Center, you must sign out of Game Center in Apple Settings. As a result, achievements will not be saved.
You may also decline to use online multiplayer functionality within the service, in which case no data will be collected related to online play.
10. Policy Updates
This privacy policy may change from time to time. The most current version of our privacy policy can be found at [ https://www.punchplanet.com/privacy ]. We will always keep this up to date so that you know information we will collect from you, how we may use it, and when we may disclose it.
